Extensively written about in 16th century herbals, this berry is native to northern Europe and Asia; northern Europe and Asia; with its nearest American counterpart being the huckleberry. During World War 2, Royal Air Force pilots swore that eating Bilberry jam prior to night missions significantly improved their visual acuity in the darkness.

The best way to make a good tasting cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag into a cup and add no more than 6 oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes and remove the bag. Press the bag before removing to enhance the flavor. Add honey to sweeten.

Bad Batch,

"I also have received some bad batches. It's not Vitacost. Every box I've received from Lot # is 210295162/EXP 07/15 is bad. If you get some from later batches, they taste better but still not as good as it used to be. Unfortunately, I can't find anyone else who produces Bilberry Tea.

This was a five star product that has been rendered two star by poor QC by the manufacturer."

"I tried this tea because of the health value. It is SO NASTY!! It went right into the garbage. It is vile, the only way I would ever drink it is if would save my life. DO NOT BUY."

"In the past my 5 star rating would apply, however, I found my last batch to be unpalatable. I learned from Alvita that their source used a different processing method causing the flavor to change and the tea to be watery although they said the benefits were still the same. It had a strange scent and there was no hint of blueberry at all. It was very disappointing. I will be returning my unopened boxes and wait to order again until this bad batch is used up."

"I'm not a big tea drinker, but this may turn things around! Only took two cups to convert me. If anyone ever says Lipton to me, I'll say Bilberry or no thanks. Smooth, fruity but not overpowering."
