"I've known for a long time about the health hazards associated with antiperspirants but hated to risk trying an alternative deodorant because, well, who wants to stink?
But I should have tried this sooner. It works so much better than I anticipated.
After being disappointed in the Tom's brand (their toothpaste is great, but gotta be honest, the deodorant didn't work for me) I bought both the Alvera brand aloe/almond roll-on and this Crystal stick.
The Alvera also worked pretty well but cost more and had a residual soapy smell. For men or those who don't shave their underarms, the Crystal stick is probably more comfortable to use than a roll-on too.
The Crystal deodorant is just a stick of solid, glass-like minerals that you rinse under water and apply to your underarms and the surrounding area. It does sting slightly after shaving but it works so well for me--it lasts more than 24 hours!-- that I wouldn't consider that an issue at all.
After trying it at home for a couple weeks I liked it enough to take it as my only deodorant on vacation to Denver and Chicago and loved it there too. If you're in a bathroom with a granite countertop, you'll want to set it on a dish or maybe on a ziplock bag if you're traveling.
The size of the Crystal stick is a little smaller than most travel deodorants but it has lasted for a while now.
Before trying Crystal and Alvera I was a devoted Degree/Lady Speedstick user. But I'm a Crystal girl from now on!"
