Ginkgo Biloba
Ginkgo biloba is an herbal extract derived from the oldest-known species of tree. Individual trees live as long as 1,000 years. Ginkgo grows most predominantly in the southern and eastern United States, southern France, China, and Korea. The leaves of the tree are used in modern herbal medicine. Ginkgo is also an antioxidant that may protect healthy cells from the damaging effects of free radicals. Look for ginkgo biloba supplements in tablet, capsule, liquid or powder form. Ginkgo can be taken safely on a long-term basis, with a general-recommended dose of 120 mg (divided) daily.
