In 2003, Green Sprouts discovered the dangers of phthalates, which are used to soften rigid plastics such as PVC for use in many baby items. In 2006, Green Sprouts learned of concerns about BPA (bisphenol-A), which is used in hard, clear plastics like polycarbonate baby bottles to prevent breakage. Phthalates and BPA have been shown to disrupt reproductive functions and cause other developmental problems. All Green Sprouts products have been phthalate free since 2003 and BPA free since 2006.

Prepare fresh fruits or vegetables by scrubbing, paring or peeling, and removing seeds. Cut food into small pieces or thin slices first. Place food to be used in large compartment of bowl. Place small amount of food in smaller compartment over textured surface. Use bottom of spoon to grind food. Test for smoothness by rubbing a small amount of food between your fingers. Add liquid such as formula, water or fruit juice to get the desired consistency. If food is not being used right away, refrigerate quickly.
Care Instructions: Sterilize before first use by immersing in boiling water 2-5 minutes. After use, wash in hot water with mild soap and rinse thoroughly with clear water. Dishwasher safe, top rack only. Freezer safe.
