Jarrow FORMULAS® Organic Coconut Oil (Cocus nucifera) is expeller-pressed from the dried flesh (copra) of the coconut palm fruit and does not utilize any solvents in the manufacturing process. Coconut oil is a source of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) such as lauric acid (C-12) and caprylic acid (C-8). Coconut oil is stable even during long periods of storage. Because its melting point is 75-76° F coconut oil can be used in both liquid or solid forms. Its neutral flavor makes it ideal for use in cooking and baking. "This product is great and it is pure for anyone with allergies or perfume sensitivities. You can use it to cook, for your skin or your hair (although I would not use the same jar for cooking and skin care). If you have a problem with excess dry skin a little of this after a shower relieves itchiness, and is not as greasy as one would expect. I use it to massage into my hair and scalp, which makes my hair shiny. I leave it overnight then wash it in the morning. I saw this same product at a health food store for 3 times the price! Will purchase again."

"If I would have known that this product did not have the coconut taste and smell, I would have never ordered it. I have been cooking with coconut oil for YEARS and my family loves the taste. I usually buy Nutiva or the NSI brand but I needed a smaller container so ordered this one. Never again. It would be nice if this product CLEARLY stated that this oil has NO taste and NO coconut aroma."

"After trying other coconut oils previously to this brand, I must say I'm a bit disappointed. It doesn't at all have the coconut smell I am just crazy about and it is not white and creamy, although it is organic. Having said that, although I won't be using this oil for cooking, I love it for use on my skin and hair BECAUSE it is odorless. I don't have to worry about being chased by bees in the summer. For the money, its a great overall skin and hair oil and I would purchase it again for those reasons."
