How does Benfotiamine work?
Benfotiamine (S-benzyolthiamine-O-monophosphate) is a lipid-soluble, synthetic variant of thiamin (vitamin B-1). It's known to be the most potent of the allithiamines, or compounds present in trace quantities in roasted crushed garlic and other vegetables from the Allium genus. Benfotiamine is believed to raise the blood level of thiamin pyrophosphate (TPP), the biologically active coenzyme of thiamine, and stimulate transkotelase, a cellular enzyme essential for maintenance of normal glucose metabolic pathways. It may also help control formation of Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs). AGEs increase as we age and glucose levels rise, potentially resulting in damage to healthy cells including those in the cardiovascular system, visual and nervous systems, thus benfotiamine may promote general vascular, nerve, and cellular health.
NSI® Benfotiamine is better because it:
-- Delivers 150 mg of Benfotiamine in just one capsule daily!
-- Fat-soluble form makes it highly bioavailable or absorbable in a fat soluble form.
