How does NSI® Candida Yeast Management work?Candida, or Candida albicans, is a strain of yeast present in almost every human body. It inhabits the digestive system (mouth, throat, intestines and genitourinary tract) and exists as a normal part of the bowel flora, or organisms that naturally live in the intestines.
Candida levels are kept in check by the friendly bacteria, or probiotics, that reside in the digestive tract, including L. acidophilus, B. bifidum, K. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus and L. salivarius. When friendly bacteria levels are compromised, however (for example, when taking antiobiotics, birth control pills, steroids or cortisone drugs), candida overgrowth can occur. A variety of health complications, from intestinal discomfort, poor digestion, fatigue and weight gain to weakened immune function and vaginal or mouth infection, can result.
Because the cell walls of candida are largely made up of fiber, cellulase enzymes have the ability to digest them and help move them out of the body. NSI® Candida Yeast Management contains several cellulase and hemicellulase enzymes that work together to break down the fibrous structure of candida. In addition, it contains natural enzymes that help digest carbohydrates, the main source of "food" for candida. So, in addition to breaking down/digesting the yeast, this supplement also denies it its food source.
It is recommended that probiotics be taken along with NSI® Candida Yeast Management to help maintain healthy levels of friendly bacteria. NSI® offers three formulas:
