How does NSI® D-Mannose with Cranforte™ work?
D-Mannose is a naturally-occurring simple sugar that is closely related to glucose. When ingested, it is absorbed slowly from the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It then goes directly to the blood stream, mostly filtered through the kidneys and routed to the bladder. The bladder lining is comprised of polysaccharide molecules. An infection is initiated when finger-like projections on the cell surface of E. coli bacteria adhere to these molecules. D-Mannose helps dislodge E. coli bacteria from the bladder wall, resulting in their expulsion during urination. Since D-Mannose does not kill micro-organisms, but merely helps flush them out, it does not lead to major disruptions in normal body microflora as some antibiotics do.
Cranberries promote bladder and urinary tract health as well. They contain proanthocyanidins that help prevent the adhesion of certain bacteria, including E. coli. In addition, these proanthocyanidins promote dental health since they inhibit the bacterial growth that causes plaque. Cranberries also contain antioxidants that work to help protect cells from free-radical damage. They have other phytonutrients that contribute to cardiovascular health, encourage favorable cholesterol levels and boost the immune system.
NSI® D-Mannose with Cranforte™ is better because it:
-- Contains CranForte™ Cranberry Extract, standardized to 30% organic acids, 3%
proanthocyanidins, 1% total anthocyanidins and 10% phenolics
-- Offers superior quality and potency
-- Is a better value when compared to other brands
Did You Know?
All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.
