How does NSI Echinacea work?
Echinacea is a genus of nine species of flowering plants in the Family Asteraceae, all native to North America. Popularly known as the purple coneflower, it has been traditionally applied as an herbal remedy by the North American Plains Indians, who used its roots to make a poultice for a number of wounds resulting from insects and snakes and also for treating sore gums and colds.
Since that time, Echinacea has been used in both the United States and Europe to help support the immune system because it is thought to increase the production of white blood cells and have a positive effect on the lymph glands. Echinacea is also used to stimulate cellular activity that may support healthy respiratory function.
It most well known species include P. purpurea, E. angustifolia, and E. pallida. Of these, P. purpurea is considered the one of the most effective. NSI Echinacea contains 1,200 mg of Echinacea (P. purpurea) in each convenient 2 capsule serving.
