A small plant that grows in the meadows and grasslands of central Europe, eyebright ( Euphrasia officinalis ) is used to promote eye health.
While traditionally applied in compress-form to relieve discomforts such as watery, itchy eyes from allergies, eyebright may also be taken in supplement form. It contains tannins, which have anti-inflammatory and astringent properties, as well as flavonoids, including quercetin, which may help the body maintain healthy breathing passages and mucous function.
