Today, the beneficial effects are attributed to various seed components including linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, carotenoids, tocopherols and phytosterols. Pumpkin seeds also contain lignans and phenols, which like soy, belong to the family of phytoestrogens.
Soybean germ extract, the second key ingredient in Femalgen™, is extracted from soybeans. It's commonly known that soy is a phytoestrogen—or a chemical produced by plants that acts similarly to the human hormone estrogen.
