How does NSI® FloraGlo Lutein with Bilberry Extract work?
Lutein (pronounced LOO-teen) is a carotenoid (natural pigment) found in green leafy vegetables, corn and eggs. This antioxidant protects healthy cells from damage caused by free radicals, while filtering out potentially dangerous high-energy blue light from the visible light spectrum.
After ingestion, lutein is deposited in the eyes, specifically in the macula and the lens. The macula, located in the center of the retina, is responsible for producing the sharp, central vision needed to see fine detail (for reading and close work). Higher lutein levels may be associated with macular health.
NSI® FloraGLO® Lutein is manufactured using a patented purification process that creates a version chemically identical to that found in vegetables and eggs. It is the only lutein on the market designated GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) for food and beverage products. Studies recommend taking 6 mg to 20 mg daily for eye-health, antioxidant protection and more.
Bilberry extract (Vaccinium myrtillus) helps support healthy circulation and maintain cell integrity. Anthocyanosides, the flavonoid complex in bilberries, speed the regeneration of rhodopsin, the purple pigment that is used by the rods in the eye for night vision. Bilberry extract may reduce the effects of occasional eye strain and other age-related eye conditions caused by a breakdown of the eye’s circulatory system. Its high levels of tannic acid, cinnamic acids, flavonols, anthocyanidins, and isoflavones make it highly beneficial to the eye.
NSI® FloraGlo Lutein with Bilberry Extract is better because it:
-
Is purified with a patented manufacturing process
-
Is identical to the lutein found naturally in vegetables and eggs
-
Includes Bilberry Extract to support eye circulation

All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.
