NSI® Muscadine Grape Seed boosts antioxidant activity in the body to protect tissues from free-radical damage. It also supports healthy immune function and contributes anti-inflammatory benefits.
Muscadine grapes (vitis rotundifolia) are native to the southeastern part of the United States, where they have been extensively cultivated since the 16th Century. They range in color from bronze to dark purple to black when ripe. The muscadine grape is high in antioxidants¹. According to the USDA, it contains more antioxidants than red wine grapes, pomegranates, cranberries and blueberries.
NSI® Muscadine Grape Seed is a dietary supplement that contains 500 mg of grape seed extract in each convenient vegetarian capsule.
Compared to other grape seeds, muscadine grape seeds contain seven times the amount of resveratrol, a natural polyphenol. Polyphenols are flavonoids known for their high-antioxidant activity, helping protect the body against oxidative stress and free radical damage. One phenol in particular found grape seed, procyanidin, promotes healthy vision, joints and circulatory systems while it also supports cardiovascular health²,³ 4.
Procyanidins are also bound to collagen, the most abundant protein in the body and a key component of healthy skin, gums, bones, teeth, hair and body tissues. This bond promotes cell health and skin elasticity, making it appear more youthful 5. Procyanidins also help protect the body from sun damage, which can cause premature aging of the skin 5.The antioxidant power of proanthocyanidins is 20 times greater than vitamin E and 50 times greater than vitamin C.
