How Does NSI® Red Yeast Rice with BioCosanol™ Policosanol work?
Red yeast rice is the by-product formed when yeast (Monascus purpureus) is cultivated on cooked, non-glutinous (less likely to have the grains stick together) rice, and then undergoes the process of fermentation. The first use of red yeast rice for its health-promoting properties was documented in China during the Tang Dynasty in 800 A.D. It was recommended for circulatory and digestive health benefits.

Red yeast rice contains fiber, rice starch and fatty acids, as well as compounds known as monacolins, which provide natural benefits for cholesterol health.
