How does NSI® Synergy Healthy Cholesterol Multi-Vitamin work?
Synergy Healthy Cholesterol Multi-Vitamin provides 1,200 mg of red yeast rice and 500 mg of No-Flush Niacin, which together promote healthy cholesterol levels.

Red yeast rice is the by-product formed when cooked rice is covered by a growth of red yeast, and then undergoes the process of fermentation. Red yeast rice, at 1,200 mg, has been shown to decrease the production of LDL-cholesterol ("bad cholesterol"). No-Flush Niacin (vitamin B3 in the slow-release form of inositol hexaniacinate) may help lower triglyceride and may also help raise HDL-cholesterol (“good” cholesterol).

Synergy Healthy Cholesterol also delivers effective doses of powerful antioxidants, including coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10, 100 mg), alpha lipoic acid (300 mg), pomegranate extract (500 mg), green tea extract (500 mg), quercetin (100 mg) and lycopene (4 mg), which may inhibit the initial step of LDL-cholesterol oxidation and thus may promote healthy arteries.

The 500 mg of pomegranate extract found in Synergy Healthy Cholesterol is standardized with 80% phenols and 40% punicosides (antioxidants unique to pomegranates). 500 mg of pomegranate extract may provide more antioxidant activity than drinking half a glass of pomegranate juice. This is important because clinical studies suggest that drinking pomegranate juice supports healthy arteries.

Drinking green tea is associated with protecting the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems. Synergy Healthy Cholesterol includes 500 mg of a potent Green Tea Extract (standardized to 98% polyphenols, 80% catechins, 45% EGCG), which is roughly equivalent in antioxidant activity to drinking three cups of green tea.

Clinical studies have shown that CoQ10 may improve cardiovascular function and protect the heart. The synergistic combination of CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid and acetyl L-carnitine (500 mg) found in Synergy Healthy Cholesterol may improve cellular energy production, guard healthy cells from free radical damage, and protect the heart and brain.    

Synergy Healthy Cholesterol may also provide eye and vision protection  with 6 mg of lutein and the antioxidant power of CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, green tea extract, vitamin C (500 mg as mineral ascorbate complex Advan-C®), vitamin E, quercetin and 30 mg of chelated zinc (as L-OptiZinc®).

This multi-vitamin may enhance bone health with vitamin D3 (1000 IU), vitamin K (300 mcg), magnesium (200 mg) and chelated boron (3 mg). Furthermore, vitamin D3 together with quercetin and other antioxidants may promote healthy cell division. Chromium, biotin and alpha lipoic acid may support healthy glucose levels. Vitamin E, vitamin C, zinc and selenium may help strengthen the immune system. Selenium (200 mcg in the chelated form of selenomethionine), vitamin D3, and lycopene may protect the prostate.

Please note: The majority of the body's LDL-cholesterol is produced in the liver at night. If you choose to take the complete 6 capsule daily serving of Synergy Healthy Cholesterol Multi-Vitamin with one meal, dinner is the optimal time. If you prefer to break the serving up into 3 capsules twice daily, then the best times are 3 capsules with lunch and 3 capsules with dinner.
