How Does NSI® Wild Yam Root work?
Wild yam is a perennial, twining vine plant native to North America that now commonly grows throughout the midwestern and eastern U.S. The dried root of the plant has been traditionally used to support many different areas of health, including joint and muscle, digestive, immune and reproductive.
Wild yam was once believed to contain estrogen- and progestin-like properties and to be a precursor to the hormone, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). This belief was based on the historical fact that Mexican wild yam was used in laboratories to chemically manufacture steroid hormones in the 1960s. Unfortunately, there is no evidence that a similar chemical conversion occurs in the human body.
Wild yam may, however, support breast and cardiovascular health as well as overall health in postmenopausal women.¹
(Note: Supermarket "yams" are members of the sweet potato family and are not considered true yams.)
NSI® Wild Yam Root is better because it:
Delivers 850 mg of wild yam root in one two-capsule serving.
Is available at a greater value than other wild yam root supplements on the market.
Warnings
