"I like the NSI brand for 5-htp because I feel more of the boost. This will not make your stomach upset, however, making it a good choice when you don't feel like your stomach can handle a 5-htp."

"I would not say do not buy it or buy it. Do your own research on this product. It is simply not for me and I would rather take Melatonin for sleep support instead of this."

"My dog was having a time with thunder and lightning storms. Just scared her to death. The 5-HTP has helped immensely! Of course, I have to cut the tabs down (that is why the caps would not work) to get the correct dosage.

Works like a charm!

Nature's Way 5-HTP Directions

Use under the guidance of a healthcare practitioner. Start with a low dose of one tablet (50 mg.) taken daily with a meal. Increase the dose slowly (every 3-5 days) up to a maximum of four tablets taken daily (200 mg.) Total daily intake should be divided into two or more doses, with no more than two tablets per dose.

Warnings

This product should not be consumed by children or by pregnant or lactating women.
Some may experience gastrointestinal (GI) upset, diarrhea or nausea while taking this product which usually disappears by reducing dosage or is minimized by taking with food. As with any supplement, if discomfort persists discontinue use.
Those suffering from gut disorders such as ulcers, irritable bowel disease, Crohn's disease, celiac disease, etc., should not use 5-HTP.
Those using MAO-inhibitors, antidepressants and drugs containing fenfluramine should not use 5-HTP.
May cause drowsiness.
Do not use while driving or operating heavy equipment.
