What is ORAC?
- ORAC, or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, is a scientific, test tube analysis that measures the levels of antioxidants found in foods and dietary supplements.
- ORAC Ratings quantify antioxidant levels and are measured using the ORAC Scale developed at the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.
- The ORAC Rating has become the international testing standard for determining an item's antioxidant capacity.
- Antioxidants are natural compounds that help protect the body from damage cause by free radicals, unstable molecules which attack cells and trigger certain health concerns and premature aging.
Why are ORAC Ratings important?
- The higher an ORAC Rating, the higher an antioxidant's ability to seek and destroy free radicals, an important fact since free radical damage has been linked to poor cardiovascular, cognitive, joint, immune and vision health – and more.
- The USDA recommends consuming 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC Units daily. Unfortunately, most of us consume less than 1,000 ORAC Units each day.
- Multi-vitamins and supplements formulated with antioxidant rich nutrients containing high ORAC Ratings can boost antioxidant levels within the body – enhancing overall health, vitality and well-being.
- With this information in mind, how does your multi-vitamin rate?
Synergy Scores High in ORAC Ratings!

- Based on an ORAC Value per 1,000 mg, many Synergy multi-vitamins score meet or exceed the USDA daily recommendation of 3,000 to 5,000 units.
- The high ORAC Rating of Synergy multi-vitamin means that you will not only receive high-quality daily nutrition, you will also receive high-potency antioxidant protection!
