How the Filter Works:

Stage 1:

Activated Carbon Microfilter - Reduces sediment, chlorine taste and odor, chlorination by-products, and agricultural and industrial pollutants.
Ion Exchange Resin - Reduces lead, mercury and other heavy metals.

Stage 2:

Pleated Microfilter - Reduces microbial cysts.
Leaves beneficial fluoride in the water.

Pur 7-Cup Pitcher Water Filtration System with 2-Stage Filter Directions

Easy Set-Up:

1. Soak new filter in cold water for 15 minutes.

2. Flush filter by running under cold water for 10 seconds. Allow excess water to drain from filter.

3. Insert filter and align pegs on the filter with the grooves in the blue tray.

4. Twist the filter clock-wise to seal the filter in the blue tray.

Note: It is not unusual for carbon dust to be in your first 1 or 2 pitchers of filtered water. Carbon fines are harmless.

Filters up to 40 Gallons/151 Liters (1-2 months). Replace your filter every 1-2 months Use the PUR Filter life calendar cling inside as a helpful reminder. If your water contains high levels of sediment, the life of your filter can be reduced.
