If suppository seems soft, hold in plastic wrapper under cold water for 2 to 3 minutes. Directions for Opening Suppository Wrapper: 1. Detach one suppository from the strip of suppositories and remove wrapper as follows before inserting into the rectum. 2. Hold suppository so that arrow on wrapper points up. 3. Carefully separate the plastic wrapper tabs with your fingers. 4. Peel plastic slowly and evenly down both sides, exposing suppository. 5. Avoid excessive handling of suppository, since it is designed to melt at body temperature. Adults: insert one suppository rectally up to 6 times daily or after each bowel movement by following these steps: when practical, clean the affected area with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly; gently dry by patting or blotting with toilet tissue or a soft cloth before applying; detach one suppository from the strip of suppositories; remove wrapper before inserting into the rectum.
