Red yeast rice is a naturally derived extract used in Asia for centuries for its health-promoting properties.* It is the by-product formed when cooked, non-glutinous rice is covered by a growth of red yeast and then undergoes the process of fermentation.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin-like compound that plays a part in cellular energy production. It also functions as an antioxidant.* CoQ10 levels can be depleted with use of red yeast rice.*
