"I used this product for my husband's iced tea for over a week before I asked him how he liked it. He has hyper taste buds so I was nervous about it. He said it was delicious - just like I always make. He was completely unaware that I'd replaced the sugar with Stevia. I used a drop of Stevia to replace each teaspoon of sugar. So, for him it was just 3 drops for a 16-oz glass of iced tea.
This Stevia is concentrated - so, if you have been using another Stevia product, you may need to adjust the amount you use. The reason some people don't like Stevia is that they use too much and their food becomes bitter.
In baking I use only 1 teaspoon to replace 1 cup of sugar. I have used raisins, dried ground dates (both soaked in water), mashed bananas or applesauce for the rest of the cup needed to make the recipe. If I want it to have the brown sugar taste, then I just add 1 tablespoon of dark molasses.
This is best used in baking for sweet breads, cakes, cheesecakes, or oatmeal cookies. There seems to be no way to make crunchy cookies like chocolate chip.
Sometimes I only replace 1/2 of the sugar in a recipe. This is a good way to ease into using Stevia in baking. Cheesecake is better using only half replacement.
You can use it to sweeten whipped cream, strawberries, and homemade cake to go with it.
French Toast - replace the sugar in the egg mixture with Stevia and make it just the same way you always do. Sugar free syrup: Grate an apple, add some cinnamon and a little bit of butter, some water, corn starch and Stevia - cook till it thickens like you would when making gravy. Nobody I've served this to realized that it is sugar free.
Wisdom of the Ancients Stevia has no aftertaste like some of the powdered type does. It tastes the closest I've found to actually using Stevia leaves."
