"(Let me preface this by saying I am not a seasoned chai tea drinker or even a seasoned tea drinker. I've just recently started drinking herbal tea (just to warm up during the colder months) and have been trying different flavors to find one that sits well with me. This tea is NOT it.)
I tried a chai tea from a well-known natural food chain and loved it, but, when I couldn't get my hands on it, I began searching elsewhere for a similar tasting tea. I decided to try this and regretted my decision from the first scent of this concoction.
It's got an awful, bitter, medicinal taste that lingers on the palate. Even when steeped for less than the suggested time, this tea still tasted like band-aid, so it wasn't a problem of over steeping. The taste reminded me of when you use too much nutmeg in something and get that weird, medicinal aftertaste that almost stings the tongue. AWFUL. Awful, awful, awful.
As stated, I am quite unfamiliar with chai teas -- traditional or otherwise -- so, perhaps, this is what chai is supposed to taste like. Regardless, this is a definite "PASS" product."
