Handmade with our traditional, African Black Soap for gentle, natural cleansing. African wild honey imparts glossiness and scalp health, while rooibos tea encourages new hair growth and improves overall condition. For dry or damaged hair.
Alaffia's mission embodies three clear principles:
Create - We formulate and create our products based on indigenous beauty knowledge and fair trade ingredients.
Inform - One of our main goals is to inform the public about interconnections between communities and how, together, we can alleviate poverty through fair trade and sustainable choices.
Empower - Our certified fair trade shea butter cooperative and community projects encourage self empowerment and gender equality for women in our West African communities.
In Togo, only 14% of school-aged girls attend secondary school. Our Bicycles for Education project provides transportation and encouragement for girls to continue their educations and become future leaders. Since our first shipment in 2006, Alaffia has distributed over 3,000 bicycles to disadvantaged students in central Togo.
We allocate at least 10% of our sales to our community enhancement projects.
