Arnel's Originals All Purpose Flour & Pie Crust Mix Gluten Free Description
This 16 oz package of Arnel's Originals All Purpose Flour contains three cups of flour. Each cup of this mix contains ½ teaspoon xanthin gum which helps to hold things together and can be used one-to-one for any recipe that calls for flour.
One Perfect Pie Crust
1 cup of Arnel's Originals All Purpose Flour mixture
¼ cup softened butter or margarine (salted)
½ large egg, slightly beaten
1 Tablespoon water, if needed
Mix flour and margarine, then egg (and water)
Dough should hold together when pinched
Roll dough between sheets of waxed paper (until 1" larger in diameter than pie pan)
Peel off one side and lay crust in pan
Slowly peel off 2nd side and press crust into pan
Pierce crust with a fork and either bake with a filling (400° 45 min.) or bake empty (400° 12-15 min) to be filled when cooled.
A 16 oz package yields enough for three pie crusts. Makes flaky crusts for pies, quiches and more.
