ARO-Vitacost Black Series Whey Protein Complex PLUS Natural Vanilla -- 5 lb (2270 g)
Great value. No idea about the taste, since I tend to mix it with at least 3-4 of the following: blueberries, blackberries, peaches, strawberries, flax seeds, coconut, greek yogurt, bananas, and cocoa powder. Great for breakfast and immediately post workout. Good price and good nutrition chart, which is the important thing.

It tastes good
Proverbs 3:27 says, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it." So I decided to write this now, kind of early. This shake is good. Vitacost did a good job. It kind of tastes like Dymatize shakes do. It isn't too sweet or taste like artificial sweetener. It isn't very thick or very thin. I just tried it right now. If it does the body good, then for the price, it is great- if the physical effects match up then it would be excellent, but it's too soon to tell. I am pretty impressed so far but I wasn't anticipating much either. I think Dymatize shakes are delicious and this matches that pretty close. A great alternative. I also like Met-rx shakes that are very thick but they are meal replacements and have more carbs. You can always add extra powder or less water to get it thick enough for you. It is way more cost effective than all those brands for sure. I thank God for the money to afford this and for all you at Vitacost, and for whoever reads this, God bless you.

Not good value for money
I was motivated to write this review after receiving a Vitacost email comparing this product to Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard whey, with the rhetorical subject line of 'Which Whey is Best'. I had bought this product once, and wasn't impressed with the nutrient composition of it, so decided to 'do the math' and see how these products compared. Currently, buying a 5lb canister of each on Vitacost.com, these are the facts.
Per serving (45g for Vitacost, 30g for ON):
Cost: Vitacost: - 74 cents, ON - 70 cents
Calories: Vitacost - 200, ON - 120
Protein: Vitacost - 20g, ON - 24g
Fat: Vitacost - 7g, ON - 1g
Saturated Fat: Vitacost - 2g, ON - 0.5g
Carbohydrate: Vitacost - 13g, ON - 3g
Sugars: Vitacost - 3g, ON - 1g
It is very clear that, judged solely as a whey powder product, Vitacost loses by a significant margin on every count. For someone trying to 'bulk up' and looking for extra calories, this could be useful, but it is not marketed as a 'bulking up' product.
Whoever sent out the 'Which Whey is Best' email really should have done better preparation. Unless it was all just reverse psychology to encourages us to buy Optimum Nutrition protein! :)

Best tasting powder
This is the best tasting powder of all the ones I tried. Plus the price is right.
