Hands down the very best tasting, most satisfying, cleanest, smoked WILD herring I have ever had. Those with whom I've shared it agree. But beware: once you've tried it, you can't go back to the other brands, no way, nohow. I loved finding them here on Vitacost, though I wish the price were just a bit lower. Used to get them at Ocean State Job Lot for $2 and change. But these are worth it. Herring done the right way. I fix mine like so: Lots of balsamic vinegar, some olive oil, maybe a tsp of chia seeds for fiber and crunch. Have it on toast slathered with coconut oil. Oh, man.

I had never had canned herring before these and I thought they were delicious - loved the flavor that the cracked pepper added. Will definitely get these again.
