Bob's Red Mill Adzuki Heritage Beans Description

  • Kosher
  • Jewel of the East

A petite red bean with a firm texture and a rich nutty flavor. High in fiber and a good source of iron. Perfect for salads, soups, chilis and vegetarian burgers. Adzuki beans are the main ingredient in anko, a sweet red bean paste used in Japanese desserts.

Directions

Sort and rinse 1 cup beans. Place in pot with 3 cups water. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until beans are tender, about 1 hour. Add more water as needed while cooking to keep beans covered. Makes 4 servings (about 3 cups)

Great all purpose food Never had these beans before but they were recommend on Dr. Oz so we tried them. You can make a great burger with them! They go along way and the burgers were great. They have a good taste and with seasoning, they can be made to taste anyway you want. And you get lots of fiber as well. They are smaller than I thought but I plan to make them a staple in my diet. Definitely would buy them again, especially from Vitacost. July 6, 2013
