Bob's Red Mill All Natural Cornstarch Description
- Thickens Soups, Sauces, and Fillings
- Gluten Free
Bob's Red Mill's dense and powdery Cornstarch comes right from the endosperm of the corn kernel. It is best used as a thickening agent for puddings, pie fillings, sauces, soups, and stews. Cornstarch is also popularly used in many cake and cookie recipes for producing dense and finely textured goods.
1 Tbsp. Bob's Red Mill Corn Starch = 2 Tbsp. Flour. - Cornstarch has twice the thickening power of flour. When a gravy, sauce, soup, or stew recipe calls for flour, use half as much corn starch to thicken. To thicken hot liquids, first mix Bob's Red Mill Corn Starch with a little cold water until smooth. Gradually stir into hot liquid until blended. Stirring constantly, bring to boil and boil one minute.
