Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Cake Mix Chocolate -- 16 oz
I have written SO many reviews on Vitacost. I don't think I have ever written a 1-star review. And I honestly can't believe I'm doing it for a Bob's Red Mill product. I use Bob's daily.
So what is the deal? I have made these mixes twice. Both times, I've thrown them away- the whole batch of cupcakes. My husband wouldn't eat them, I wouldn't eat them, my KIDS wouldn't eat them.
I will say that I feel chickpea/garbanzo flour has NO place in cupcakes. Absolutely doesn't belong. And I love chickpea flour! I just used Bob's chickpea flour to make falafel for lunch today! But you put that in a cupcake, and the SMELL will get you.
I mixed this stuff up. The smell was almost gag-worthy. I thought it would be better after I baked it. It was, but just BARELY. These really taste terrible. I couldn't even mask it with my Nutella buttercream frosting.
I HATE to give a product such a negative review, but this product is- to my family's palette- inedible. I will stick to Namaste brand and Pamela's for my GF chocolate cake fix. I will continue to buy all my other Bob's products, though!!!

Good, gluten free cake mix
Actually bought this for my daughter, but bag broke in transit, so decided to retrieve what I could and cook it. It was very good, nice and moist.

the cake was very very good, no difference from the one bought in the grocery store... I would buy only this forever

Love Bob's Red Mill Products - But Not This One
Sorry, I know other people say they like this, but we thought it was just beyond awful. It smells super weird, the taste of the batter was even worse than the smell, but we still tried to bake it in hopes it would come out okay, to no avail. The baked cake was just horrible as well. This one just didn't work for us, but again, I love most all other Bob's Red Mill products that I've tried.
