needed to much butter i was disappointed with this product, spent all day making an apple pie, i had to use so much butter, and it burned in the oven while cooking, besides if i am trying to eat gluten free for better health, why use 2.5 sticks of butter! April 6, 2015
More than just for pie crust I like this for a pie crust, but I also use it as a gluten-free pancake mix. Since it already has sugar and salt in it, all I add is buttermilk or whole milk (1-1/2 cups), water (1/2 cup), oil (4 Tablespoons), eggs (2) and baking powder (3 Tablespoons) per 2 cups of pie crust mix. Easy to make and delicious I was excited to see a GF pie crust, and with the reviews i decided to try it. I was not disappointed. I used the 10 oz of butter and 6 Tbs water, it came out amazing! It was so good and flaky. I made a Veggie pot pie with Bob's GF baking flour for the Roux. My husband, that does not eat GF was liking his fingers and we had leftovers 3 days in a row. Needless to say i was shocked that he wanted to have the same thing but he said he could not have enough. He said this was a definite keeper and to make it again. Great when you're needing pie crust fast If you don't always have time to mix your own gluten free flours to make a good blend, this pie crust mix works well. It's nice and flak and has a similar taste to regular wheat pie crusts. It does not hold up quite as well for say apple pie that's super loaded, but it tastes good and has a good texture for gluten free. January 12, 2015
