Best Gluten Free Bread Ever This is far and away the tastiest gluten free bread I've had. It is a brown bread that is multigrain and has texture. You'd never know it's gluten free. April 9, 2013

Great tasting dense high fiber bread This mix bakes a very tasty and dense, dark loaf, reminiscent of pumpernickel and other dense dark breads. I bake my loaf in a Cuisinart bread machine and take it out right after cooking to maintain a nice moist loaf. Great with butter and jam or for a sandwich. Tends to slice thick as it has so many gluten free flours and seeds. I tend to toast, spread with fresh avacado and goat cheese and/or cold poached salmon or other lighter meat. April 8, 2013

Very disappointed I have tried numerous Bob's Red Mill mixes and they have all been great. This one, however, was disappointing. I followed the instructions a "T" and the bread ended up VERY heavy, with a strong caraway taste. I know whole grain bread is heavier than white but this was heavy to the extreme. Luckily my husband likes it so it won't go to waste. April 3, 2013

Exceptional We have tried many mixes. Some ok, but flavor lacking. THIS is the softest most flavor filled loaf of bread. I used coconut milk for moisture. Mix thickens quickly. Add, 3/4 cup, Just enough to get a nice gloss. Use stand mixer. Remember to let rise just even to top of pan. Also used a rapid rise yeast.. Love love this bread. Molasses sweet. If you want a bit more sweetness add more Agave syrup or Honey. 3/4 cup. Room temp eggs etc works best for these mixes. February 4, 2013

Bob's Red Mill Hearty Whole Grain Bread Mix Gluten Free Directions

What You Need:

1 3/4 cups Water
1/4 cup Oil
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Cider Vinegar

Baking Instructions by Hand

1. Dissolve enclosed packet of yeast in 1 3/4 cups warm (110 deg. F.) water and let stand for 5 minutes to foam. Have all ingredients at room temperature.

2. Put dry mix in large mixing bowl (preferably use a stand mixer).

3. Add eggs, oil, cider vinegar, yeast-water mixture.

4. With mixer on low speed, blend all ingredients until smooth. Turn mixer to medium and beat 15 seconds or until mixture thickens slightly. Pour into generously greased 9x5-inch nonstick pan. Smooth top of dough with wet spatula.

5. Cover pan with plastic wrap and put in warm place (75 to 80 deg. F.) to rise for about 40-50 minutes or until dough is level with top of pan. Preheat oven to 375 deg. F.

6. Bake 60 to 65 minutes or until internal temperature of bread reaches 205 deg. F., covering bread with foil after it starts to brown. Remove pan from oven and cool bread in pan 5 minutes. Remove bread from pan and finish cooling on wire rack. Cool completely before slicing.

Bread Machine Baking Instructions (1 1/2 lb loaf):

Remove yeast packet from package. Have all ingredients at room temperature. Follow your specific machine instructions for adding yeast, the liquid and dry ingredients in the proper order. Be sure to whisk the water, oil, vinegar and eggs together before adding to bread machine. Set controls for setting recommended by manufacturer, or to white bread basic setting. Remove bread from bread machine and cool thoroughly on wire rack before slicing.
