Too Fragile We bought two pair of these glasses. The first pair came with no booklet and we didn't know not to peel the silicone tabs from the bottom. Used once and dishwasher filler the space with water which dried after a few weeks but left a white ugly haze so we tossed them and bought two more. The interior glass is so fragile, little more than a crystal bubble, that you can not drop an ice cube in it. One small cube broke our new one. They're elegant but I prefer stemware for wine and consider this glass useless for an iced drink. August 16, 2011

Bodum Povina Glasses. These glasses are good looking and keep the beverage cold without sweating and dripping on you as you drink. The downfall is that they break easily and are expensive. The overall result is excellent and worth the extra cost. July 29, 2011

great gift I've used these for 5 years and keep a couple of on hand for gifts. When I have company and they find these wine glasses so great, I just remember them for b-day, etc. Its a great gift I know they'll like and the price is affordable. April 2, 2011

Surprising I purchased these as a gift for my father. When these glasses were delivered, I opened them to ensure they had arrived in one piece. At first I was concerned that I had purchased the wrong item, they felt like plastic. I discussed it with my dad and had him try them out-the package said they were glass, maybe he would like them and they would be more durable-Initially, he thought they felt too light and plastic-ey. After a week of using them, he fell in love with them and now can't stop talking about how great they look, how versatile they are and what a great purchase it was! Thanks! March 31, 2011

Double walled glass tumblers with an "intelligent" silicon seal that regulates air-pressure between the two layers.

Bodum's insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass that weighs less than traditional glassware. Used to make scientific lab glass, borosilicate glass (medical grade glass) is stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass and can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in traditional glassware. The boron oxide acts as a glue holding the silicate together and due to the small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger glass. Some customers may perceive the glass to be "thin" as they hold it. It is important to explain the difference between borosilicate and soda lime glass. Borosilicate glass doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is dishwasher safe and will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 100 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it. Simply treat it as you would any glass product and it will stand up to every day use. Dishwasher & microwave safe.
