Falafel is one of the most popular foods form the Middle East. It is nutritious, simple to prepare and very flavorful. Small falafel patties are served inside pita bread with fresh greens topped with delicious sesame tahini dressing. Originally falafel was the food of the caravaneers on their long desert journeys. Casbah Falafel All Natural Mix Directions

1 cup water. 1. Combine Falafel Mix with cold water and let stand for 10 minutes. 2. Pour vegetable oil 1/2 inch deep or more into a deep fryer or skillet. Heat oil so falafel patties fry vigorously (approximately 350 degrees to 375 degrees F). 4. Form small patties or balls using two spoons or a melon baller. Fry patties 1 minute on each side until brown and crisp. Place patties on paper towels. Serve while hot.

Without Oil: Make 1/2 inch thin patties. Use a nonstick skillet or griddle without oil and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side. Follow steps 1 and 2 above. Make 1/2 inch thin patties and place patties on a non-stick baking pan. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F and bake patties 8-10 minutes on each side until lightly brown.
