Celebration Herbals Organic Matcha Tea Description

  • Powdered Leaf tea
  • Powder Gives A Higher Antioxidant 7 Vitamin Level
  • Smooth Flavor
  • Invigorating & Calming

The best Matcha green tea comes from Japan and is steamed, not roasted or pan-fried. As a result, Matcha green tea retains all the nutrient-rich value possible from the tea leaf and does not have a bitter taste.

Directions

Scoop about 1 teaspoon matcha into your favorite teacup and add a few drops of hot water to melt the tea into a paste.  After the tea is melted, fill your cup with 6 ounces of water. Experiment with water temperature and amout of tea and water.  Try adding a bit of honey or milk.

Wonderful smooth flavor I had never tried Matcha tea before and I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth this tea is! I love 'regular' green as well, but this finely powdered tea has a nice smooth top that the green tea just doesn't have. Based on the recommendation of a friend I bought this bulk version (you Don't need a strainer) and I like it. This tea comes with a resealable bag but that's kind of a pain, so I poured it into an unused sugar jar and that actually turned out to be the perfect solution! The person who reviewed this tea as having a bad smell must have gotten a bad batch because this tea also smells wonderful. Also this tea contains caffeine, but even the caffeine in this tea is smoother than the caffeine in standard green tea - no jitters! Definitely recommend this to any tea lover. May 8, 2013
Age of tea Just to mention, when buying green tea/matcha please remember it is fresh only for one year from the drying process. then it looses its wonderful flavor. February 24, 2013
Excellent value for money Excellent grade of tea. Very pleased with product December 28, 2012
Not as good as expected I read reviews for Matcha teas here at Vitacost and at Amazon and other sites, and decided this tea was the best choice for a reasonably priced Matcha. When it came, I wondered how to open the flimsy, too-large plastic bag it is packed in, without spilling most of the tea all over the kitchen. I had to shake the bag down a lot, in order to get the fine powder down into the bottom and then open it very gently. The packaging is impractical and doesn't give it protection from oxidation. You need to put it into a tin or some other airtight container, but I don't know how you can do that without spilling a lot of it. Matcha powder is very fine and clings to plastic. And it's hard to scoop out the right amount from the bag. I deducted one point for packaging. The tea was a dull green, not bright, but I expected that. The first odor after opening was slightly rotten without a good, fresh tea smell--not encouraging. I carefully steeped it, and found it dull tasting, somewhat sour and bitter, and not very good. This is my first Matcha, but I drink green tea often. This Matcha seems less than mediocre to me. I expected it to be mediocre but drinkable. Because of the rotten odor, I may return it and try an organic Gunpowder Green. It's not too bad if you add sweetening and milk or coconut milk, etc., but it's not good, and I like my green tea plain. December 4, 2012
decent matcha I tried another matcha sold on this site and it was horrible. This matcha is much closer to the stuff my Japanese friend gave to me. It is a decent matcha for the price. September 14, 2012
