Chatfield's Carob Powder -- 16 oz
Newbie to carob powder
After using cocoa for some years, it's interesting switching over to carob. I've made "hot chocolate" a few times with the carob and I made brownies with it. It's without question an acquired taste. As for the powder, it can be messy. I've experimented with different methods to lessen the fly-aways.

The taste is mild!!
Carob is not like chocolate at all. The only thing it has in common with chocolate is that they both are dark brown. Now if you are a person that can't eat chocolate products, then it can be a substitute, but the tastes are really different. Carob tastes much weaker than cocoa. Chatfield's makes a quality product, so give it a try if you need a chocolate substitute.

Yuk. Not as creamy as everyone said. Bitter taste even with some honey.

Best carob powder, smooth and never bitter
I have been using this carob powder for years for everything under the sun....shakes, baking, ANYTIME you would use chocolate. It is never bitter, always smooth, and mixes in great. Goes really well in recipes with vegetable glycerine...makes a wicked chocolate sauce!
