Colorado Mountain Jam Organic Blueberry Description
Though the wild blueberry has been around for over 13,000 years, it wasn't cultivated until the early Twentieth Century. Botanically speaking, the blueberry is part of a family that includes the flowering azalea, mountain laurel, and heather. These plants favor acid soil, plenty of water, and a cool season - a climate far different from that of hot, dry Western Colorado. Searching for blueberries that taste as true to wild as possible, Colorado Mountain Jam located wonderfully flavorful blueberries in Gresham, Oregon. In fact, we drove to Oregon to pick up the small blueberries that go into our Organic Blueberry Jam and transported them home to our kitchen in Palisade, Colorado. Packed with intensely flavorful blueberries, this jam couldn't taste any fresher if you picked the blueberries yourself in your own secret spot.
