Great results without the harsh chemicals and odor
I am fortunate enough over the years to have been handed down some lovely older wood furniture from my Grandparents, and also inherited their home, which has beautiful wood doors, trim and bannister.. The only trouble has been the upkeep; my sinuses don't care for the harsh fumes left by big-box store brands of wood cleaners and polishes!
Now, I use the Seventh Generation wood cleanser, and follow it up with Daddy Van's polish, and all I can say is WOW! The results are much better than anything I have tried before! A few of the more worn pieces of furniture look very nearly brand new! My husband and I were frankly amazed, and pleasantly surprised. :)
As far as I have seen, both the cleaner and polish have been quite gentle on even the oldest varnish finishes. That being said, I always spot test on inconspicuous areas before using on the full piece!
My only complaint is the price, because the tin is kind of small. Maybe it's just my furniture, but the thirsty wood absorbed a lot of the polish during use, so the product didn't go very far. I'm hoping now that the wood is properly cleaned and conditioned, follow-up care will mean less product being needed to achieve the desired results. Even so, the amazing results coupled with the absence of nasty fumes still makes this product worth the price. Don't forget to clean the wood with a natural cleanser first, though!
