Della Basmati White Rice Gluten Free Description
Della White Basmati Rice is Micro-Milled in small batches as tradition dictates, to guarantee freshness, flavor, and aroma. An aromatic rice with nutty flavors, White Basmati is smooth, even in texture and simple to prepare. Originally grown in the foothills of the Himalayas, Della White Basmati rice is proudly grown in the USA.
Measure 2 cups of water in saucepan with a tight fitting lid and bring to a boil. Add 1-2 tsp of butter or olive oil (optional). Salt to taste.
Stir in 1 cup of White Basmati Rice.
Cover saucepan with a tight fitting lid. Lower the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and all of the water is absorbed. Remove from the heat and allow to sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
A rice cooker may be used with the same rice-to-water ratio.
Yields approximately 3 cups of White Basmati Rice.
For softer rice use more water. For firmer rice use less water.
Combine 1 cup of White Basmati Rice, 2 cups of water and 1-2 tsp of butter or olive oil (optional) and salt to taste. Place into a microwaveable safe dish with a cover.
Cover and microwave on high power for 6 minutes. Stir.
Cover and continue cooking at 50% power for 15 minutes or until all of the water is absorbed. Let rice rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.

If microwave will not reduce setting to 50% power it is not recommended to use this cooking method.
