Great price!! This stuff can be very expensive but this is a great deal for the amount you get. March 9, 2013

Being that I have never used any other xanthan gum, I cannot really comment on the effectiveness. My baked goods were pretty crumbly even with the gum. This is by far the best price I have seen on any xanthan gum, though. October 15, 2009

Ener-G Xanthan Gum Description

Gluten-Free • Wheat-Free • Dairy-Free • No Saturated Fat • No Cholesterol • No Sugar

The below recipe is taken from the book "Special Diets for Special Kids" by Lisa Lewis, PhD. and reproduced with permission from the publisher.
Basic Bread Machine Loaf
1-1/2 tsp      Dried Yeast
1-1/2 cups   White Rice Flour
3/4 cup        Brown Rice Flour
2 tsp           Xanthan Gum
1 tsp            Salt
2 tbsp          Sugar
1/3 cup        Dry milk substitute
2                  Large Eggs
3 tbsp          Margarine (melted)(or Vegetable Oil)
1 tsp            Apple Cider Vinegar
1 cup           Water, warm

Mix all dry Ingredients in a large bowl. Mix in eggs, margerine, vinegar and water. Stir together just to mix. Place in the oiled bread machine pan. Use the light setting or set programmable machines to one knead and one rise cycle.
