Familia Swiss- Muesli Original -- 32 oz
The best muesli by far
I've tried many other kinds of Muesli, and this is the real deal--not too chewy, not crisp, not like your average cereal. The right balance of the right ingredients. I change it every day by adding yoghurt or freeze-dried fruit or toasted pecan pieces or julienned fresh apple or whatever occurs to me, and I never get tired of it. It is very versatile and delicious!

40 or more years ago, I used to buy this cereal in a health food store (also the baby kind for my children) and hadn't gotten it for a long time. At one time it was in the bigger supermarkets, maybe still is, but I live in a rural area now without too much choice, and if it's at our local natural food store, it woudl be very expensive. I thought of it and looked on the VitaCost site and found it! It does seem expensive, compared to "sugar cereals" in grocery stores, but is very heavy (the box) and contains a lot of good ingredients. Doesn't seem to have as much of the dry fruit (apples and raisins) as it did long ago, but still seems good. I have been buying 2 boxes a month from VitaCost and using them all month. I use it in baking, and also with honey, natural peanutbutter, and protein powder, mixed and rolled into balls, to eat as natural granola-like snack. Mix it with yogurt, too. I'm sure there are many other uses for it, besides eating it as a hot or cold cereal on it's own. Happy to have found it at VitaCost, and also something I can afford on a limited income budget.

most excellent muesli
This product is made of rolled whole grains, not the usual flakes which are a poor substitution. This product is a hearty breakfast, snack, or whenever ... excellent stuff, good nutrition that does not leave you hungry. I like to put fresh fruit on top of it, like cut up apple, or berries, or peaches (in season), and eat it dry. My wife likes to dampen it a little with water.

Fresh and good
I used to eat this when I was a teen in the 70's because my dad distributed it and would bring it home.
I had a yearning for this cereal recently and low-and-behold it was here on Vitacost, my supplement supplier.
It is as I remember it with more oats than most, but it was fresh and wholesome, and at a nice price for a 32oz box.

Not as I remembered
Cereal is cheapened from the way it used to be with plenty of fruit and nuts in addition to the oats. Now it seems like it is 99% oats. Not tasty and hard to chew. Ycch!
