Many delicious and healthy ancient grains have fallen out of favor because they are too difficult to grow or just never caught on here. But not being ones to let a challenge get in the way of our breakfast, we began experimenting with the grains like Spelt and Kamut®, two grains that can be traced back to the fertile crescent. What transpired is Farm to Table Organic Ancient Grain Oatmeal, and if we may say so it is no less than a textural triumph with rich, earthy undertones that touch on a culinary experience that had nearly been lost to the ages.
How serving oatmeal can serve The Planet.
How does a product go from being served at breakfast to serving the greater good? At Farm to Table, we believe in the farmer. Good farmers mean good ingredients. And good ingredients mean good, wholesome food. If conscientious companies can get more delicious, sustainably produced food onto your table, the job of feeding your family will move away from big agri-business and move into the hands of farmers who care.

Use 2/3 cup water for every 1/3 cup of oatmeal. Put oatmeal and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil then cook on medium/low heat stirring occasionally for 3-5 minutes depending on desired consistency. Top with brown sugar, honey or maple syrup. Finish with a splash of cream, milk or half-and-half. Add a pinch of cinnamon. Enjoy!
Microwave Directions:
Put 1 1/3 cup of oatmeal and 2/3 cup of water in a large microwave-safe bowl. Cook for 1½ minutes. Stir and cook for another 1½ minutes. Let cool. Top with your favorites.
