Completely covers Gray I tried this product because my sister recommended this particular website because she buys her vitamins from here. I had dyed my hair several months ago and the gray was coming back like gangbusters. I decided to go darker than my last color and am very pleased. The selection of colors in the red shade was a little daunting but I think I chose the right color and will continue to purchase from this site. The only thing is that when I rinsed my hair it felt like it had been stripped and felt very dry. The conditioner that came with it was wonderful. It put the moisture back in my hair and I loved the smell. I wish I could purchase it separately for every day use. If it becomes available I would be interested in buying it. Too Dark I'm very disappointed. My hair is light brown. This color made my hair look black! It's so dark, it DOES NOT look "light" or "chestnut" at all, it looks black...I also tried the 5N and 5G and they were both very dark too. I also noticed that my hair is so much more damaged and dry after using these products over the past 2 years. next time I'm buying a much lighter color. September 11, 2012

Herbatint hair color Very pleased with product. I used to henna dye my hair but for last 1 year it was not giving me good coverage and I had streaky red and black hair. So I used Herbatint as it has less chemicals. Color stays 4 weeks. It does make my hair stiff and I have to use a conditioner which I never did with henna. Also causes some itchiness in the scalp. Its best with Royal cream conditioner and overall I am happy with it. January 17, 2012

Herbatint is the finest, most natural permanent hair colouring gel free of harsh chemicals and Ammonia. Herbatint offers a safe, gentle and effective way to colour your hair and cover grey with just 1 application. Depending on the length of your hair, Herbatint can be used for 1 application or can be saved for a second application when the colour has grown out. Herbatint can be used even if a chemical dye has been used to colour your hair and if your hair has just been permed. It’s easy to use and has no smell!

Herbatint Permanent Herbal Haircolour Gel 5M Light Mahogany Chestnut Directions

Use only on dry hair. Using a plastic or a glass container only, combine equal amounts of Herbatint with the glycol developer (included in pack). Make sure the mixture has been thoroughly blended before application. Put on the gloves (included in pack).
For non-treated hair, apply colour mixture onto dry hair, making sure that the hair shaft from root to end is fully covered. Wait for 40 minutes. For previously dyed or permed hair, apply a portion of the mixture on dry roots first, wait 30 minutes and then apply the remaining mixture onto the rest of the hair. Wait an additional 10 minutes.
Rinse out Herbatint mixture thoroughly with water until the rinse water is clear, then wash hair using a natural pH shampoo such as Herbavita Normalising Shampoo. Then apply a natural pH conditioner such as Royal Cream. Wait 5 minutes and rinse again.

Royal Cream conditioner: water, mallow extracts, rosemary extract, behentrimonium chloride, wheat bran lipids, fragrance.

Warnings

This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary patch test, according to accompanying instructions should be made prior to each application.
This product must not be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows. To do so may cause blindness.
Avoid contact with eyes. Should mixture come into contact with eyes, rinse immediately with cool water.

Allergy Test
Wash an area of skin about the size of a dime inside your elbow. Pat dry and apply a few drops of a mixture of HERBATINT® color and Glycol Developer. Leave uncovered and undisturbed for 48 hours. Do not use this product if any burning, itching or abnormal reaction occurs in or around the test area.
