Herbatint Permanent Herbal Haircolour Gel FF4 Violet -- 1 Kit
Didn't even take
So when i got this color i was so excited to finally have purple hair and i had heard nothing but good things about this brand so i was so excited for it but trouble soon struck. I had to lighten my hair because the strand test i did, nothing showed up. After getting my hair to a nice ash blonde color, i put in the dye. I sat for exactly 40 mins, like the instructions say and when i rinsed it, i seriously had like pinkish roots but thats about it. It barely took to my hair and where it did take, it was sooooo patchy. If youre going to do purple hair, i would recommend Splat. All of their colors are great and its what i used to do the purple ombre i have now. Attached is a photo right after i colored and rinsed this from my hair.

You won't get the color you expect
I really like that the product is very gentle, and doesn't have the harsh chemicals and odors that typical hair color does. However, I was expecting a violet color and I got more of a pinkish brown. Definitely no where near violet. I also had lightened my hair to a very light blonde beforehand so the color would look as vibrant as it does on the box.
At first I liked the color, even though it wasn't the color I expected, but it quickly started to fade after only 3 washings. I use gentle, non detergent plant based shampoo and conditioner, and also have a filter on my shower. Color still faded. I'm going to give it a try again, but this time I am going to mix it with the Plum and see if I actually get closer to the purple I wanted. It's really a shame because the product itself is supposed to be permanent, but I'm finding I need to re-dye my hair almost as often as when I had semi-permanent color.

Ok so I have used every brand out there, store bought and salon. This brand is far better than every one of them, in these ways- my hair is healthier, shinier and the color is so rich and beautiful! It is true that there is no horrible smell or chemical burn or itch. One thing though, with the color I chose, (a mix of plum and violet on my medium brown hair), It turned out darkest brown with a hint of berry in it if you are in the right lighting.
