Hugo Naturals Shampoo Balancing Tea Tree and Lavender -- 12 fl oz
gentle cleansing, good for itchy scalp
I have been buying this shampoo for a few years at my local Whole Foods. I was looking for something natural and gentle. I have fine hair that looks oily if I go more than two days without washing, but that can also be easily dried out. This works great for me - gently cleanses, but hair still looks clean for two days.
Other benefits are the herbal scent and it seems to have balanced my scalp. When I use this my scalp doesn't itch and I don't seem to get any residue buildup that I've gotten with some other shampoos or conditioners.
The conditioner that goes with this is good too - but not if you have dry hair as it is a very light conditioner. Again, I like it because there's no buildup of residue.

Good Product but...
I like Hugo products as they are healthy according to EWG ratings. However, this particular shampoo is very watery and therefore requires a lot of product to create a lather.
If anything, it has an appealing fragrance.
I will try another Hugo Shampoo

I have been using Hugo Naturals Lemon Verbena and loving it. This seemed like the best replacement since that was discontinued. But no.
The product seperates and has to be remixed to get any lather at all. Even then it's thin and runny and it takes a double handful to wash my hair. The bottle is smaller than it used to be and is already half gone after two weeks. I will be finding a different brand of natural shampoo in the future.

Great scent. Too runny
I've used Hugo Naturals shampoo in the past and enjoyed the results because it's so gentle on the hair - it doesn't strip the hair shaft and scalp, causing hair to dry out. I like that these shampoos don't do that. This was my first time using the lavender tea tree one and I thought the smell was very nice, fresh and clean, and true to what it should smell like. My only complaint is that the formula seems slightly different since they changed the package design - different in that it's now very runny/watery. I keep loosing a lot of it from it just running off my hand before I can lift my hand to my head. I don't know if it's because of changes the company has made or if it's unique to the lavender tea tree one. The orange vanilla I used (in the older packaging) was far more viscous - similar to the consistency of most shampoos. I'll still use this stuff because I like the results... but wish it wasn't so terribly runny.
