Works, but doesn't taste good Iron Tek's "Essential Proteins" are really high quality proteins, but the "vanilla cake" does not taste all that great. The "Cookies and Cream" was far better flavor and was perfect with water. The "vanilla cake" is bland and not much better in flavor than many other whey proteins. Get the "Cookies and Cream" flavor if you want good taste. Protein quality in both is equal though--both are excellent and I believe the best value of all the proteins sold on Vitacost December 19, 2009

Great Taste! This protein powder really does taste like Vanilla Cake. Makes a great smoothie with just water. It is 135 calories though. If you are restricting your caloric intake I reccomend the Jarrow Unflavored Whey at 85 calories. Note that the amount of protein in the Jarrow whey appears less but the scoop is larger in the IronTek product- so I believe the even out. This powder does provide two sources of protein. I blend it up in water with ice and frozen wild blueberries- delish! July 12, 2009

Great Protein Powder This is a great product. Easily blends and with multiple sources of protein it is easily absorbed and put to work quickly. Its also low in fats and sugars! Great for muscle building when your trying to slim down. I have used this product for several years and not found any bloating or chalky after taste. June 30, 2009

Iron-Tek Essential Natural Protein Vanilla Cake Directions

Iron-Tek® Essential Natural High Protein is designed to be taken two (2) to three (3) times daily. Iron-Tek® Essential Natural Protein is especially beneficial when taken immediately after a workout. Iron-Tek® Essential Natural Protein can be taken by adults to supplement dietary protein as needed.

Using scoop provided, add one (1) scoop (35.5 g)(1.25 oz.) to one (1) cup (6-8 fl. oz.) (178-237 mL) or more of either cold water or your favorite cold beverage. Stir briskly until dissolved for a tasty vanilla protein supplement. For a creamier texture, use a blender and add ice. You may also try adding your favorite fruit. As a reminder, discuss the supplements and medication that you take with your health care providers.
