I guess I got a bad bag?
I read all the 5 star reviews and decided to try a couple of kinds of Jim's coffee. But there was one 1-star review and I totally agree with that person now that I have the coffee - both of the kinds I got (Colombian and Jo-Jo's Java) smells burnt and is bitter. There's no richness to it - it's more thin than rich. I have to double the amount of beans I use just to get it from being weak and bitter to strong and bitter. Also, I think the bag had hung around Vitacost for a while - the beans are dry as if they're old and stale. Normally when I use coffee beans (which I always do), the beans are shiny and almost oily feeling. These fall apart in my hands. Either cooked too long or on the shelf too long. I won't buy Jim's coffee again unless Vitacost can show me some better examples. Back to Starbucks.

I haven't had a bad product from Jim's organic, love their philosophy and their coffee. This makes a great regular cup or a nice espresso too.

Awesome Coffee
I'm so happy we tried this coffee! Our grocery store never had organic whole bean coffee and when they did it was overpriced! This coffee is better than any pre-ground or whole bean that we can get at our local store! Nice flavor, great cup o' joe!
