Day 5: The Energy Source
I was still hiking in the Himalayan Mountains with my old Tibetan guide. I brought myself a snack this time, a trail mix with Goji berries. The Goji berry has been a cherished fruit in Chinese and Tibetan medicines for centuries. No wonder this little red berry is called a superfruit; it is actually filled with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
This energy-filled fruit and nut blend gave me the courage to keep going! Trust me, hiking in these mountains wasn't easy! This Trail Mix contains Goji berries, walnuts, cashews and almonds. It tastes delicious, is rich in vitamin A and also a source of dietary fiber and iron.
