Admittedly, I have only used this for a week now but I love it! The color/feel is somewhat olive-oil-like and the smell is nutty. Smells like macadamia to me. I use this with Argan oil at night (use Jojoba alone for day). I have adult acne skin which is highly susceptible to break out. Since switching to essential oils and honey cleansing...my skin has improved tremendously. My skin is soooo soft, redness is gone and acne/acne scars have/are clearing. I highly recommend this oil. Smells Bad I have only used it once so I can't comment on it's effectiveness, but the smell is very strong and I found it to be offensive. It does dissipate after a while but not sure if I will continue to use it due to the odor. March 23, 2013

Amazing! This has been amazing for my oily, acne prone skin. I also noticed a significant brightness to my face after using this. It is also great for preventing aging signs! You would think if you were oily and acne prone, putting an oil on your face would be a bad idea. But this has been the best night time moisturizer I have found and I have not had nearly as many breakouts since using this. January 19, 2013

Great for burns. Several people from work recommended Tamanu Oil to treat scars. I did not see a big difference on old scars, but after burning my hand cooking, I started using Tamanu Oil on the burn. It was amazing how much it helped the healing process. The burn was small but deep. I used it twice a day but really would notice a difference in the morning, after using it at night. Not only did it seem to help the healing, it helped the wound from scarring. I have used it on patches of psoriasis but have not noticed much of a difference. I plan to continue trying the Tamanu oil on other skin problems. August 9, 2012

Tamanu Oil (the sacred oil of Tahiti) has gained the world's attention due to a combination of effective use in traditional settings and scientific research supporting its traditional uses. Natural Styles produces and sells only pure, unadulterated Tamanu Oil.

Tamanu Oil has anti-inflammatory activity. This activity is due partly to the 4-phenyl coumarin calophyllolide [Bhalla, T.N. et al. Calophyllolide: a new anti-inflammatory agent. Indian J. Med. Res. November, 1980; 72: 762-5] and a group of xanthones in the oil. All the xanthones in tamanu Oil show anti-inflammatory activity, which makes it effective for rashes, sores, swellings and abrasions.

Tamanu Oil also possesses a unique capacity to promote the formation of new tissue, thereby accelerating wound healing and the growth of healthy skin. This process is known as cicatrization. For this reason, it is a widely used traditional topical aid and can also be used for burns.

Apply a few drops of Tamanu Oil to the skin with your fingers. Very little Tamanu Oil is needed as it takes just a few drops to cover the affected skin area. Gently rub it into your skin. It penetrates very quickly to the lower skin layers and leaves no oily shine. You may notice its mild, nutty fragrance which will dissipate rapidly.

When used as a cosmetic moisturizer, it is recommended that you first thoroughly cleanse your face, hands or other skin areas, then apply a few drops of Tamanu Oil to your hands and massage the oil into your skin.

For use as a natural nightly moisturizer, wash your face to remove all other substances. Leave your face and hands damp. Put 2 to 3 drops of Tamanu Oil in your hands and rub together to spread the oil. Then rub your hands on your face skin and massage the oil into your skin - being careful not to get the oil in your eyes or mouth.

Tahitian women also apply a few drops of Tamanu Oil to their hair after shampooing. It adds an attractive, natural sheen to the hair.
