All in one convenient package, giving you a great tasting, easy to prepare recipe. Incorporate as a side dish, the foundation for a main course, or even as a quick nutritious snack.
Stove Top Cooking Instructions
Just follow these simple steps:
In a medium saucepan add 1.5 cups of water and the contents of the pouch. Please note the quinoa, vegetables, herbs and spices are now all packed inside one convenient pouch.
Cook until quinoa is tender and the white spiral threads appear around each grain, usually when all the water is absorbed. Cooks in 12 to 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, fluff with a fork and serve. Enjoy!
Make it a Main Dish!
To the prepared quinoa add:
1 cup cooked and diced or pulled poultry, shrimp, beef, pork or tofu.
1/2-1 cup cooked vegetables such as peas, green beans, broccoli florets, sliced or diced mushrooms, spinach, kale, asparagus, summer or winter squash or sweet potatoes.
1/4-1/2 cup diced, soaked onions, bell peppers or artichoke hearts.
For a variety try:
Replace water with vegetable, chicken, beef or seafood stock to complement your entree.
Replace 1/4 cup of water with dry white wine.
Toward the end of cooking add 1 or 2 teaspoons of butter, olive or nut oils.
